We have much to be thankful for and these are just a few of the songs that I’ve written over the years to show my gratitude.

Song #1 “Thank You” – Thanking the folks who took the time to listen to me and for being there when no one else was around.
Song #2 “Thanks for Being Tom” – A music video in remembrance of a good guy, Tom “Totsy” Cook. An original song written for him, his family and all of his friends who loved him so much.
Song #3 “Thanks to the Whistle-blowers” – A special appreciation for the efforts and risks assumed by those individuals best known as whistle-blowers. We owe much to these individuals for revealing problems previously hidden from of us.
Song #4 “You’ll Thank Me Later” – A song about preventing our friends from driving when they’ve had too much to drink. “Friends help friends when they’ve had too much to drink… You’ll thank me later when we can laugh and hug again.”
Song #5 “We Could Start Today” – A hopeful, happy, motivating song about how we can begin today to bring about some changes in ourselves and thus affect the change going on around us.
Song #6 “Thanks for the Backhanded Compliment” – A song dedicated to the critics that have mastered the skill of being able to give backhanded compliments.
Song #7 “Thanks to the Folks” – A song written to show our appreciation for all the sacrifices made by the people who struggled for the freedoms that we enjoy today.

Music Show #21 – 11/16/ & 11/18/2016 – Someway, Someday Songs.

These songs are not so much about how someday we’ll obtain everything that we’re striving for, but songs that remind us that if we are fully aware during the process then our lives will be fuller and that we’ll be more apt to accomplish our objectives.

Song #1 Someday – It’s not so much that “Someday” is a particular day on which we will all of a sudden discover our love, but “Someday” is everyday that we seek out and then share our love.

Song #2 “Somewhere, Someway, Someday, Somehow” – An uplifting happy song that gives us hope for the future.

Song #3 “Sometimes My Love Runs Dry” – A bouncy song written on one of those gray days when everything looks hopeless.

Song #4 “Someday We’ll See the Light” – A hopeful song that assures us that someday we’ll see the light of love shine through the darkness that sometimes hinders our ability to see clearly.

Song #5 “I Still Believe It’s True” – It we don’t believe that our love matters then we will be hard pressed to believe that our whole experience here is worth much of anything.

Song #6 “One of These Days” –  A song dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr., John Lewis, Pete Seeger and the Civil Right’s Movement. Like the hand clapping in the video the beat goes on as the struggle for fairness and justice continues.

Song #7 “The World We Want to Live In” – The choices we make in life can certainly affect our own happiness so it makes sense that those same choices can impact the world. This song simply encourages us to seek out the best options while playing our part here.

Song #8 “Someday Soon” – A hopeful song that reaches out and offers a hand up to anyone who may be experiencing a deep sense of hopelessness.

I’ve also posted some accompanying videos with a few of the shows on YouTube if you’re interested.  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOyRYerTUWm3ZCpbNOamhiGF6JcJ9OeSp

Music Show #20 – 11/9/ & 11/11/2016 – Meditative Love Songs.

In times of great turmoil or sadness it has certainly helped me to take a big breath and then redirect myself into meditative love songs like these.

Song #1 Om Namah Shivaya – A meditative song of love that calls on a powerful healing mantra which is beneficial for many physical and mental ailments.

Song #2 “I Need to Rest My Mind” – A song that reminds us that sometimes we need to take a big breath and rest our minds. If we want to be all that we can be we’ll need to regularly rejuvenate our energies and then get back up on the path to become whom we aspire to be.

Song #3 “Open Up Your Heart” – A “pep” song that encourages us all to simply “open up our hearts and to let some love come in.”

Song #4 “To Aspire is to Arrive” – We’ll be aspiring all of our lives. If we can realize that as long as we keep aspiring to become then in those efforts we are already succeeding.

Song #5 “When?” – With all the turmoil that often confronts a young 19 year old it’s not uncommon for them to ask questions like “When will things ever improve?” This was the third song I ever wrote back in 1971 and it still keeps those days vivid in my mind.

Song #6 “Think Again” – When pessimism overwhelms us and our lives feel worthless, perhaps we should “think again” and decide if this is what we want our lives here to reflect.

Song #7 “Free Us” – A positive song about our quest to be free from the distractions that prevent us from realizing our love and thus from contributing to the larger force that underlies everything.

Song #8 “It’s All Inside of You” – The love we are searching for is in us to begin with. It is still a process to unveil it, but we can be reassured that as we come to know ourselves more clearly some peace will come to us and then naturally will be reflected in our lives.
